an oriental twist
Sunday, August 23, 2009 .::. live it. definitely loving it.
by the time you read this, i should already be in camp weeping my way through the night and recalling the happy times i spent back last week.

well well, just returned from yet another fabulous trip to hong kong. this month can be called the most expensive time i had. a kickstart of the month, i spent a weekend getaway with my family at the ritz-carlton hotel watching the national day preview from the huge window overlooking the marina bay floating platform. it was a good deal i should say, the team at the hotel was wonderful too! then the short little enjoyment ended and back to the horrendous place for two weeks of which i spent the lovely national day doing duty, guarding the camp. then later that week more came because i just wanted to pull through the month with all the duties and finish it up so that i can set my mind at ease before i go for yet another wonderful place. this time i really mean it and here i jet set to HONG KONG!

the most frequented place in my life and having said that, i guess its over ten times now since my maiden trip to this place in primary one. all i could remember was the place being very dirty and very poor service. people were rude and they walk as if they have wheels on their heels. like everyone else, we've grown up and the country has changed and seeing it change from a british colony to a china special administrative region, you see lesser angmohs and more mainlanders. easily you'll be able to recognise them: cutting queues, speaking very loudly, shouting across the crowds, special dress sense and/or carrying bags of luxury labels (amongst them LV, Prada with LV being the hottest label). cant believe right? its as though they strike lottery every single weekend man! would love to have that kind of life! hahaha... lucky young chinese kids will be showered with branded everyday lor. oh yes i just read on 8-days about the worst asian travelers and the result? CHINESE from china and indians from india! damn funny la...

it was alot of walking and traveling on the mtr. we visited the usual places for shopping like central, causeway bay, tst, jordan, mongkok, tung chung etc. we covered as much as we could on the shopping list and tasted as much food as we can everyday. it was a feast almost every meal, excluding tea breaks so sometimes we just got to forgo the chance of having good desserts at hui lau shan. many funny things happened during the trip.

i visited my friend who is working at W hotel. damn impressive and i really love that wonderland, if you have a chance to stay there please do as i strongly recommend! it was very nice of him to bring me for a little tour despite his work and i sort of had to rush for a dinner with my moms friend. photos will be up soon, in my facebook too.

this time we had some extra time and went ahead with our pre-planned macau trip. okay it was a fruitful one cos we visited the other side of this former portugese-colony. the previous time, we merely made a visit to the famous venetian resort and was stucked there the whole day, partly because it was too big to explore and cotai strip itself is still in development, even till today. so this time we went to tour around the shops and attraction such as the ruins of st. paul's cathedral. its like a sauna there, the air was very stale and the sun was burning hot. we bought the local products and portugese eggtarts. photos will be up soon! we made a visit to another casino resort - wynn macau which is damn chi-chi. you could only imagine atas people will ever make a visit there. my god! hahaha...
