an oriental twist
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 .::. NYE 2008/2009
this shall, or most probably, mark the last entry of the prosperous year - 2008. many things happened and theres just too much to recount on. significants events are things such as getting my driving license, ending my internship with meritus, graduating from shatec, embarking on a new life journey with the army and yes, hoping to end this year and start a brand new one with a smile. but of course, all these included many happy and sad moments.

basically the year started with the continuation of my internship with meritus. its been one of the best part in my working experience, well something i should be proud of. ive met all sorts of people from around the world and yes, that included guests from every where. they've been nice and nasty, either way. the colleagues at the hotel were the ones who motivated me to work happily and complete the internship successfully. its really been an amazing experience with the people over there and with that, it made me open up myself even more and made me know more on what the world is all about. and not forgetting the numerous clubbing times i enjoyed! hahaha, yes paiseh is the main factor but then again, its another kind of experience. it ended with much joy and definitely an unforgettable experience which will stay with me forever.

during the break after the internship, it was pure slacking and enjoying my life away. meeting up with my friends, going out and spending quite a bit of money. although we didnt meet up as much as we could afford to but every one made the effort to. hahaha... during that period a lot of them went traveling, near and far. thank goodness my sister and i picked the best summer vacation aka big shopping spree - hong kong. it was eating and shopping, walking and buying. the trip also made us know more about the inside of the city and yes, shopping doesnt need to be in huge malls, it can be hidden somewhere along the street of old buildings. all day long it was shopping and it doesnt end till late night.

thereafter i got enlisted into the poor island - pulau tekong. thinking back i was damn scared to get enlisted into the army because i just had no idea what it was all about. ncc was different! i met nice and bad people, went through quite a bit of shit and graduated from the school. ive never thought i could survive it all, being dirty, wet and whatever you name it, its almost all. im really glad that i got into a good company filled with good superiors and some of the best members in the team. three months spent together wasnt for nothing, really its more than the time you actually spend with your family at home! hahaha, alot of fun and some punishments. field camps, tests, ippt, route marches and alot of other stuffs to recall. how i wish i can have the same commanders again in this new unit! yes i wish. but i really think ive at least achieved something out of what they expected us to so yes, im happy. things like getting silver for ippt and completing the final bmt 24-km route march, these are some of the things ive achieved so far.

then came my shatec graduation on 8 nov at shangri-la which marked the end of my school life, for now. it was pretty fun, just that too short to mingle around with my friends. yes! finally got that piece of ten-over-thousand diploma from the school and not getting any more shit from them! all in all, they still managed to keep that passion burning in me for that career which i hope it still will forever.

bmt ended on 9 dec and i got posted to a new unit - sispec. i seriously didnt mind if its ocs or sispec, just whichever is more suitable for me. hahaha i heard ocs is damn tough, they treat you like robots or made of steel, something like that la but many survived it so i guess my friends will be able to as well. life in sispec is still alright for now, just that i do really miss my bmt life with my friends and all. its a culture shock and im still trying to adapt to it someway somehow. i just want to get this over and done with, achieving something out of it at the end with no regrets. army has definitely made me a healthier and tougher person but then again, there are things ive got to forgo in order to earn that bit of achievement. life being different in sispec where we enjoy slightly more privileges and freedom, there are also more responsibilites we have to bear. anyways, six more weeks to completing the first part of the course before proceeding to the next level or get posted to another unit.

lastly, im still planning for tonights programme and just waiting for the time to come. hope this brand new year brings new experience and will be the best year la. as for resolutions, i havent really thought of the list yet. hahaha so till then, i shall update again! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
