Oh finally, I'm back here to do some updates. I know life is very dry and so damn routined after my holiday. I swear it was the best holiday ever, the schedule is pretty relax. Hahaha, but the next day was the day I will have to deal with loads of shit. I couldn't imagine how terrified I was, even before the start of the orientation. I almost pee-ed. Haha, whatever. I am now part of Meritus Mandarin, well something I should be proud of. :))
So yes about my holiday. It was definitely wonderful as I leave my school forever and start a new chapter of my life. Hokkaido is definitely a wonderful place to be, perhaps even staying there. Quite different from Tokyo and Osaka because you seldom see people walking along the streets somewhere. Haha, kinda weird but the people there don't seem to be as active. Probably not so much for those in Sapporo but yah, it's just quite different. Anyways, this trip seemed to be very VERY fruitful. And it is! Hahah, I love shopping there too!
I will upload the photos into my Sony album very soon, so please wait and it will be up. We took about 500 odd photos, I know that's very little compared to some but honestly, my sister and I seldom take out the camera. Okay la, I do admit that there were SOME lame shots but it all for the memory of it, at least. And did I mention I got scolded by a domestic flight old air-stewardess? Hahah, all thanks to the call from Meritus Mandarin to inform me what time to report and what to bring. That old woman got louder and louder as she repeat this line of words, "Can you please turn off your phone? Pleaseeeee?", for umpteen times. No wonder she's in domestic flights. I know its wrong but the passengers are still boarding what. The plane is not even moving yet or taxing yet. What the hell.
Oh, the flight to Narita was so empty. Morning flights are best. The seats were not filled so passengers took the opportunity to lie flat on the middle seats to sleep. Hahaha, funny sight but couldn't take photos. We were told not to use any electronic devices that send out radio waves, which includes camera (I don't know why) during flight.
I mentioned we bought quite a bit of stuff back. Including food items as well as clothing. The shopping experience there was really good. Very polite and helpful staff makes your day. I was even escorted out of this store in a Sapporo shopping mall, Parco (which we once had in Singapore, Parco Bugis Junction that brand) and the salesperson handed me my shopping bag at the door. Very excellent service! 5-stars
Then after all the 7-days of fun and everything, I returned to the life of tiredness and totally exhaustion. We had a one-day orientation with the learning and development supervisor I guess. Went through some guidelines and rules for trainees and surprisingly, we didn't learn much about the hotel. You know like how Marriott and Ritz-Carlton introduce their company and such to their new employees? Then we toured around the hotel from the South Tower to the Grand Tower. Absolutely huge place to remember which is where and where is which. They made the floor colours different to separate the two towers. Went up to Top M and the lounges, they offer superb views of the whole of Singapore I think. I can literally see Marina Bay as clear as I see them from Swissotel or Ritz-Carlton's rooms. The hotel also allow us to dine there with staff discounts which is pretty good. The hotel is nicely renovated like the lobby and restaurants.
I am currently attached to Chatterbox - Home of the Mandarin Chicken Rice. The hotel has this buddy system where one person guides you on the things to do. The outlet serves mainly local delights and the chicken rice is good! We had this food tasting session with all the others including the manager. She is very nice and talks to us when we have any problem. Other than that, we also got to taste the other food items like the fried frog legs, seafood kway teow, rojak, beancurd, chendol and the sugarcane drink. Learnt things like where the items are placed, condiments for each food item, how to prepare the chicken rice, the menu items. Alot of things to remember but have to deal with it.
Went out today, as it is my off day with my sister and mom today for the dim sum buffet at Hotel Miramar. Super bloated la. It's not bad for the price that you are paying. Then cabbed down to Orchard and shopped for awhile. The bag I want is no longer available. And damn BR is not open yet. Aiya, wasted my trip.
Alright I shall update soon. Have to prepare for work tomorrow. Working from 3pm to 11pm. I dont really like working till that late, neither at 7am. I am hard to please. Hahaha, I shall stand and serve million sets of chicken rice tomorrow again.
