an oriental twist
Monday, April 16, 2007 .::.
A week has passed and the second week of the new/last term starts. Wonder what will be happening around me and the world. Schoolwork till now can be considered managable, but not projects because I am given a super duper heavy task and responsibility. My driving lessons are as usual, getting more and more challenging and at the same time, I still have that interest in that. I try not to stall the engine as often as I did when I first started. I am still leading the not-so-carefree life because right now, I'm slogging off my life with getting sponsors for my class' Convention & Exhibition event. I just pray hard we get something after I dug up the whole internet sources.

Anyway, in my classmates midst of searching for hotel addresses and who to send the resumes to for internship, I am here to announce that I have found and being offered a place for my internship coming July. I will be staying and working damn hard to achieve my diploma and getting extremely good evaluation at Meritus Mandarin. Haha, of all the resumes I sent, I only went for three interviews of which, two offered me a place. I turned down one offer apologetically because I felt bad, but I had to choose one. So, I went for Meritus. Well, I can consider myself being an early bird and quite a lucky one. Many asked me where I want to go, I seriously seriously have no preference because ultimately, it's what you learn and what you experience there, not the hotel facilities that you're going to enjoy. Right? As long as the place is good, nice and acceptable, I pretty much guess it will be somewhere good and nice. And most importantly, you meet nice people. It can always be an ultra-luxurious six-star acclaimed hotel, but if the people working with you are hard-core backstabbers or they are simply none other than gossip mongers surrounding you, what's the point right? You will be leading a damn miserable life that. For my case, I really wish that I do not meet all these people whom I will be working with.

Talking about projects, I am the elected Executive Director of the C&E event. Yes your majesty, it is my honour. If anyone of you, from my class reads my blog, I will say that I will try my best to help the class excel in this, but under certain circumstances which I am unable to, I'm truly sorry because I've tried my best anyway. You can't expect too much from someone who is the youngest in class right? Haha.

The weather now is damn humid, super hot. There's like no ventilation at all even with the windows open. What the hell! It poured so heavily this afternoon and early evening.

Went out with my family today for dinner. Orchard seems to lack visitors today, probably because polytechnics are opening tomorrow and university students are having exams. Oh well, it's quite empty today. Going town means I have to get my portugese egg tarts from Crystal Jade. It's damn nice! They are even better than the normal egg tarts. And I found my favourite brand! Holy shit, I don't have to go all the way to Ann Siang to get them now! Or even fly overseas to get them! Hahahaha, so happy because it will save me all the trouble to search for them or buy online. Okay, then we went to have dinner at Grand Hyatt's StraitsKitchen. I tell you, it's been more than ten years. Aiya, it's a story of a boy who enjoyed so much great food at Grand Hyatt's cafe (then known as Hyatt Regency) that he still remembers what they serve. Anyway, we made a reservation there and slowly indulge and I gorged the food there because it all brings back perfect and innocent memories. I miss the Char Kway Tiao and Mee Goreng there! Oh yes, I remember that was also the place I learnt how to use a pair of chopsticks! Hahaha, unbelivable right? I think I was only 4, 5 or 6 years old. So today, I managed to try the Char Kway Tiao that tastes even better than those in hawker centres and kopitiam. But Mee Goreng was missing. It was a nice dinner with all delicious food, quite worth it la. Then the other day, we went to York Hotel for this Penang feast. It was quite a spread with all the Penang favourites. Super nice also and cheap!

Okay, I think my entry is pretty long and dry. Hope my readers will not sleep and die in front of the screen. And lastly...

Pat: Don't be too stressed up with work. We will find time to release your stress and our stress. We are really sorry that we cannot accompany you today but I've already asked your brother to ask if you want to go Cafe del Mar next weekend. Then perhaps, you can share your sorrows and unhappiness and whatever shit you encounter at work and in life. Hopefully by that, you can be as cheerful and happy as you look, like the photo you took when you went KL after graduation. Be strong and look on the bright side all the time. If you have anything, you can tell your brother or us. I think he will be more than willing to be the listening ear, so are we.

All others: Thanks for taking time to update yourselves with my life. Even though we do not meet as often as we did in the past, I guess other than messaging and calling one another, this is another gateway to update ourselves with each other's life. Please do enjoy yourselves in school and in life. We meet up soon and talk abot those good days okay? :)
