an oriental twist

morning shift was not as easy as i thought. i woke up at 5am this morning and prepared for school. i waited more than 20 minutes for the bus but there was not even a bus passing by the stop. so i had to make my way to the train station with my legs. i was cursing and swearing at the bus, bus driver and the bus company for not providing any good service ever since the fares started to rise. it must have been the school holiday that caused this because there wouldnt be any primary, secondary, junior college and polytechnic students attending school. but that doesnt mean that those who are working or are having attachment are having holidays too! bloody hell. i wanted to blast into the phonecall i was about to make on my way to the station early in the morning.

breakfast was alright just that everyone was still having a sleepyhead. damn boring when theres no guest turning up for breakfast. then there came this irritating, demanding old man making trouble in the restaurant. its only our FIRST MORNING and like as if we know what you want. PLEASE man! if you want a greater and better service, i would advise you to leave for some excellent service awarded hotels. come on, we are only trainees for 3 months? hello.... (does the miss swan sound)

a fight which we initially thought was a joke almost spark off during lunch time. it was the only pathetic less than 30 minutes break and people just have to kill the tranquility of lunch. and the reason why was because of a styrofoam cup. sigh. anyways, everything was back to normal until a few cork ups during order taking. and then came a group of vietnamese, i think they were invited by singapore tourism board, for lunch there.

was anticipating to meet my mom and sis for high-tea and as i was about to reach the hotel, my friend called up to ask me back to the restaurant. someone got beaten up and the trainer wants everyone from the morning shift to report back. what the heck. it has got nothing to do with me man. anyways, i tried to reject a trillion times saying that I AM MEETING MY PARENTS, yet the answer given by my friend and the SFT, in long is supervisor for trainees, insisted on us going back. so i had no bloody choice after this damn lame excuse the SFT said. "IS MEETING YOUR PARENTS MORE IMPORTANT?" i was totally freaked out and damn pissed off. by the way, my answer is, MY FAMILY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING ELSE!!! in case you dont know how i prioritise things. i place my family in the first place, followed by my school and my other stuff, then my friends and so on.

so i thought my friend either got beaten up or beat up someone. i ran back, not really though, i did brisk walking instead which looked damn silly. anyways, it ended up like shit. i dont know who beat up that person and that person who got beaten up is someone ive never talk to before and ever and ive only seen him for the first time. he was holding his head, crying and groaning. nobody knew what happened. and to my guessing skill, i saw a brick on the table so i assumed that person was hit on the head with that brick. everybody crowd around and watched him and the trainer who was trying to calm him down.

rushed my way to meet my mom at the hotels cafe. there was a lot of people, most probably because of the school holiday. anyways, the high-tea buffet is nice but we couldnt find the legendary bread-pudding which they are famous for. the laksa is damn nice. the cream puff is nice and the ice lemon tea is superb. the dim sum, even though there are only a few selections but its good. we had our fill all the way until 5pm, 30 minutes before closing. the price is reasonable too, for a 4-star hotel. i should reveal the name of the hotel, it is Hotel Phoenix located right beside somerset mrt station. its good for food there.

went for a short shopping trip. bought a shirt, like after so long and that was about it. before i forget, goodwood park's durian puffs are back in town. the price increased to $1.90++ per piece when years ago, it was only $1.60++ then later to $1.80++. but i think its still worth to pay for. as for marriott, i have no idea about the durian season. i guess it should be out already.
