an oriental twist

moving over to OCBC building tomorrow for another 3-weeks attachment. i wonder how it will be like in a chinese restaurant cum executive club because ive only learnt those western table-settings and services. really hoping that attachment will finish and i can go back to school for lesssons. i miss those days when i can sit down in class, listen to what the trainers have to say, munch those sweets and drink a cup of mocha.

sometimes when we think of the past, we cant forgo whatever memories we still hold on to. we can always tell people to look forward and step into the future to see another side of the world. but when things befall on us, we can never never do what we always tell people. and for me, i think that im someone who can always think of the past and look forward at the same time. or maybe the reason why i can move forward is because of the memories i hold onto. i will think of it and that encourages me to move on, other than standing at the same point and not making any progress.

every now and then, i think of those silly yet fun childhood days. we played all sorts of games like "blind cat", "teacher", "doctor", "hotel", "restaurant", "pictionary", "pyramid game" and so on. theses are the games you cant really find in the present day childhood. all they know are computer games and computer games. maybe we were all no-rich kids so that was the best we could have to entertain ourselves. however, we got in touch with the used-to-be very popular computer game, sega. we had super mario, disney games and those gunshooting games. we had loads of fun then. hop-scotch, zero-point, badminton games which ended up as treating those fruits dropped by those trees as shuttle-cock and the firesparklers. truly, i think i have the most wonderful childhood days, my cousins and myself.

the place in which holds most of my childhood days was my grandmas house. shes living all alone and had an extra room. so we would always send a scapegoat to request to turn on the aircon. and my grandma who loves all her grandchildren will definitely grant this request. we would shout, scream, play around, bang those things in the room and throw them. it was almost uncontrollable in the room until someone had to knock the door and ask us to lower down our volume. and for all the mess we made, we had to clear up before we go home. those were just indoor games. chinese new year was spent until midnight there and none of them felt tired. it was like a huge gathering.

and for outdoor games, they are always at my aunts house. she has this huge garden where we can play captains ball, soccer and those freeze-and-melt games. if not the dogs will become another entertain. the porch will be like those fashion show stage/walkway. and those flowers blooming will be plucked down by us for some honey. cycling few metres away from the house, if not we will follow the maids to another house nearby. and the main intention was to play with the arcade machine. they had those street-fighter game at the attic of another house, so we always run up to the attic to attack the machine. sometimes if parents permit, we go to the playground where they have this tall slide and a very nice swing which can swing you so high up. curry puffs were always for tea-time. sometimes during the night, we will go up to the masterbed room to play with our aunts shoes and stuff. if not it would be in our cousins room playing with computer games.

wonderful childhood days huh? haha, i guess there are loads more to fill up. got to go for now and will be back to update again. laters
