an oriental twist

saturdays practical exam was good. the very first time when my partner and i were damn organised, never miss out a single ingredient, if not forgetting to add in oil, sugar, salt or pepper. it was all so perfect on a saturday, definitely a good start for the weekend. after the practical exam, had a little drink and chat session at the conveniently-located coffeebean at westmall. then back home at about two plus. and i slept all the way till like seven near eight. had dinner and tv time. saturdays end fast for me.

sunday was really good. dad bought duck rice for lunch which was still alright, but bukit batoks one is nicer. then we went to marina square for some shopping and to celebrate my birthday in advance because i will be having exam next week. so most parts of marina square already opened up and it looks like it has gone through some extreme makeover. the everything looks so different and i cant figure out where the mcdonalds, seoul garden, the previous metro, entrances to hotels used to be at. it was all a tremendous change and its better now unlike the so "cold" marina square. had coffee and some food at the coffee club. the food is super delicious and is a must-try. the country pie, spaghetti and coffee... saw a mediacorp artiste shopping, chen siew huan. she was with her children and looks damn pretty. slim and pretty, no wonder shes the spokesperson for expressions. then we went to levis and bought a pair of jeans and that added to another clothing from that brand which i used to think its a little too expensive but now i realised that its comfortable and nice to wear. haha. went to suntec and i love this car i saw at the convention and exhibition lobby atrium. its damn nice, the seats are high and the interior is spacious and comfortable. high technologies are like the speakable street directory on the mirror. the "roof" that can be opened and seen through even when its covered up. damn nice.

carrefour grocery shopping. not really but we bought quite a bit unlike some people who can push carts and trollies of ironboards, boxes of electronics and packs of vegetables, fruits, meats, pizzas etc. the sight was quite exaggerating. went to see some winter wear at one of the winter stores and i think that store is not suitable for selling because the air conditioner was not cold enough for people to try the winter wears. if i were to stay there for another five to ten minutes, i will be persipring like hell even when im wearing just a polo and jeans. it was warm there and the coolness was not there. guess its the bright lights and the temperature of the aircon that was not set right.

dad and sis went to put those shopping items in the car and we went for dinner. dinner today was wonderful, super nice. it was a celebration for my birthday in advance at keyaki japanese restaurant at the Pan Pacific. we took the renowned bubble lift and walked through the lovely japanese garden which leads to the restaurant. the ambience and the interiors of the restaurant are fantastic and nice. the teppanyaki bar was quite close to us and could see the demostrations by the chef. seated near to the window i saw the skyscrapers of singapore, oriental and marina mandarin. the feeling was "very japan". service was good, food was damn nice. although the price of every dish is very steep but we enjoyed ourselves. the way the menu was presented differs from any other japanese restaurant. we made our order and started eating after the food came. its really good, trust me and a really good dinner. my sis ate three pieces of salmon for eighteen bucks and had the cold noodles. some mushroom thingy and tempura plate we shared. i had seafood big plate with some skewers of chicken and pork. mum and dad had the steamboat with udon, some seafood, meat, vegs. we added orders like the teppanyaki chicken. it was all good. the kobe beef set costs one hundred and forty dollars. haha.

dad drove and saw the lighting decorations for christmas. then we made our way back home with bloated stomach.

tomorrow will be another day out, but a short one. to pay for the air tickets to hong kong. fortunately the hotel we are staying is the good one. haha, maybe we will see xiang yun with her family there again. saw them twice when we were in hk the last time. the plane is good, hotel is good, food will be good, shopping will be good. haha, i guess this holiday will be a really good one.
