HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY, SINGAPORE
first of all, i would like to wish my homeland, my country, my home a happy 40th birthday! its always till this very special day, we appreciate and treasure the things that we have in singapore. saying a big "THANK YOU", for being such a nice and peaceful place for us to stay
however, this year im not able to attend the event due to no tickets. but fortunately, i went for 2003 preview and actual day, and also 2004 actual day. like ive said again, the feeling and atmosphere at home, watching the tv and at the venue watching the performance itself is totally different. you can get yourself interacted with the stuff in the funpacks, with the emcees and everyone at the ndp, its really exciting and fun.
i love the performance when the combined school choir sung and the grand finale by rui en and taufik.
NDP 2005 is smaller scale as compared to those held at the national stadium. next year, NDP 2006 will be the last show that will be held at national stadium before its closure for refurbishment. anyhow, i enjoyed the show this year on tv too. especially the magnificent fireworks, its damn beautiful. =)
40 years of nation building, indeed changed alot in our lives. from a small little fishing village, to skyscrapers today, we should say we have succeeded in many ways. however, there are still alot to improve and that the future lies in me and you. and im really proud to say that im a singaporean. it is the bestest country you can live in.
i know that we always complain that singapore is too small. but why havent we consider about the disasters that we dont encounter, the tranquility we enjoy at every moment, the safe nights we have when we are sleeping at home or walking down a street. there might be some exceptions, but it hardly happens. so we should glad and feel blessed that we are living in singapore, even though its a little red dot on the map.
alright, back to what ive done today.
since its a holiday for me, i slept for the first half of the day. had lunch, watched tv and SLACK around. the word "SLACK" seems out of fashion nowadays. not many people are using this word as often anymore. haha, it brings back memories in sec 4 btw. we often slack, just as much as we can.
didnt study for the test this thursday, its 6 chapters with loads of words. im only intending to study those highlighted ones and the short notes i scribbled in class. its all useful, i hope.
and sis bought a new phone, to replace her lost phone. lucky her. i want to change mine soon, if money and parents permit. i should start doing research on new 3G phones coming out. haha, like so happy when i havent get it. oh man
school tomorrow with beverage, the most most boring subject and bar showmanship. i love bar showmanship, cos its always entertainment during lesson. hope time flies tomorrow. theres tuition at night, new tutor and a guy.
sigh, if only ive done well for Os science. shucks, i hate the feeling of getting results, it just suck okay.
alright, i think i should go and pack my bag. i feel somethings amiss now. dont know whats missing. and finally, i got my schools locker which cost me $30.50. its $61, but its shared. what the toot. heck it okay, i can get the bloody lock at the end of the rental. haha.
HAPPY NATIONAL DAY
