an oriental twist
Tuesday, June 14, 2005 .::.
havent been updating since sunday. you guys must have missed me sooo much right? haha. anyway, let me do some summarising work for this entry. its gotta be quite long, so just bear with it for a little while. hope you enjoy.

on monday, i woke up at 5AM and have to report to the hotel by 7. so kinda rushed my way to the mrt station cos i thought i could take a bus. but who knows, not even a bus shadow was seen. then decided to walk all the way to take the train. fortunately, i wasnt late and was there minutes earlier. went snappers and guests started coming in for breakfast. by the way, it was for the nokia connections 2005 held at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia (RCMS). so, i learnt how to unfold the napkins for guests, asking "sir, any coffee or tea for you?", "please allow me to clear your plates" and erm, guess alot more. a tough job i cany say, but generally its nice. you get to be very busy the whole day. and in the afternoon, we had to prepare for lunch. so, did the set up with additional cutleries, the Ritz-Carlton's tradition cobalt blue goblet glasses. the whole event on monday was at the pool bar, snappers, outside snappers and stella gallery.

felt really tired after a days work. walked around Raffles City and ended myself at Raffles The Plaza. got candles from there and went home. and i slept at 8.30pm, my earliest sleeping time cos i couldnt take it anymore.

and today, tuesday, woke up at 5am again. another breakfast for nokia connections 2005. helped for breakfast and slacked around back at fitness centre since its already after work. they didnt need help for lunch as there will only be 50 guests. got my pay and went home. and yah, i did the same old thing again. serving guests, setting up for lunch. and btw, i love the cobalt blue goblet. it looks damn cool and class. and i think thats all for tuesday.

breakfast for tomorrow was cancelled, so no more work at snappers. really fun and yeah, i feel pressure cos i have had NO experience in waitering and banquet stuffs. i had no trainings at all man, the "teachings" were verbal and hardly any demo. count myself to be lucky cos i did not make any mistakes like erm, pouring the coffee or tea onto the guest, breaking plates and spilling ice water on the floor.

anyways, nokia connections 2005 is an event whereby they launch those 3g television stuff, new phones and new technological things. not too sure if its only for invited guests. but the worldwide nokia employees are there for the event. they stayed at the Hotel, breakfast and lunch all provided. cool heh?

Event: Nokia Connections 2005 Singapore
