an oriental twist
Monday, May 30, 2005 .::.
no more tampering with the time. lets be honest this time. haha, like what a joke right? being retarded enough.

work was at 6am, like ive said. the cab picked me up at 5.05am. frikkin' tired, but felt really refreshed. i might swear to myself to wake up that early everyday. its quite a healthy lifestyle i guess. but im feeling damn tired on the other half of the day. sigh.

so it suddenly rained in the afternoon. the big umbrellas at the pool came off from the stand and, yeah, flew faraway. the scene at the pool was comical. the guests all shifted themselves with the deckchairs backwards to avoid getting "hit-and-run" by the pool umbrellas. haha, oh wells. so i calmed them down in some stupid way and closed down all the umbrellas. but still, 2 of it flew metres away. unbelievable right? and it broke when a guest was trying to help. AMAZING UMBRELLAS! they can fly oh-so high!

left work at 2 plus. walked around millenia walk, a totally boring mall before meeting my mum and sis. i thought of getting the royce chocs, but was afraid they will reach when im at suntec. so, decided to wait for them and not get it.

went to guess at raffles city. my sis wanted to get a wallet from there. mum too. and then, me. i dont know why, but i have this mentality that makes me want to get that thing when i was asked if i wanted to. so i was kinda joined in and yeah. i got one wallet in the end. haha. we got a few stuff from guess.

walked around raffles city and headed to somerset. shopped and shopped, then at orchard. i saw this nice tee at tangs, wanted to get it but the sleeve was short. then we went to fareast. by the way, orchard was not crowded at all today! shopping malls including the ever busy fareast was so damn quiet. i was wondering why, but streets seem to be much crowded.

had dinner at mos, cos we couldnt think of anywhere nice to have dinner. foodcourts boring. not noodles, it will have to be rice. then we left for home. was pretty late then. so by the time we reached home, it was already 10.30pm. and oh, i slept at the sk jewellery shop. haha.

i was browsing through someones blog and it says that they opposes the casino idea in singapore. but why? its a good idea you know. well of course there will be some disadvantages which are unavoidable.

the good idea is that...

- it can boost the tourism in singapore.
- which will, thus help the economic growth in singapore.
- which will, then make the local currency rise.
- and will make singaporeans richer and less poverty.

not only that...

- it creates more job from young to old. and also help those jobless ones.
- casino - we need people to do those stuff of cards there.
- hotels and resorts (which will allow singapore to have more rooms, to accomodate the number of tourists into singapore) - we need alot of manpower to operate the hotel.
- theme park - young and old singaporeans will also get to enjoy themselves during weekends, other than the pathetic escape park and wild wild wet.
- more entertainment in singapore.

and from my experience, the ritz's guests were impressed with the opening of casinos in singapore! and they will consider coming here again when its open. =)

no matter what, the pros in getting 2 casinos opened in singapore will be alot more than than the cons.

however the cons are....

- the standard of living here will definitely become higher.
- more profit will go to overseas as the casino bidders are foreigners.
- allow die-hard gamblers to gamble till they lose all their fortune if not controlled.

and i cant think of anymore.

but what i disagree most is this...

TERRORISM. it is ridiculous.

singapore has always been voted as the safest country in the world. and the local government will definitely increase the security level of our country. and i guess, if YOU, havent been to a casino before. dont you think that the security level in casinos are always so much higher than hotels?

and i think, the terrorists will not be dumb enough to bomb the place. cos it has so much money in there, and you want to bomb it away? it will be such a waste!

whatever it is, im neutral to this discussion. cos we cant do anything, the decision lies with the government and not us.

hello there. welcome!
