honestly the feeling doesnt suck as much as i first thought. i dont know but i just dont want anything bad to happen when im overseas. and for the first time, i'll be making my maiden journey to rockhampton in australia for overseas exercise. truthfully, id rather be staying in singapore, idling my life away in the office and enjoying every second with my friends and family but do i have a choice? not exactly, if i had i will be making big plans in the coming month.

i'll be away from my island home for 3 weeks (21 days) to be exact. till now, i have no idea what i will be doing over there but i just hope it will be some satisfactory job and something that brings at least some pleasure to work. i dont want pressure and not smile till the last day. its afterall an overseas trip, guess they will want to make it memorable in the pleasant way, right?

anyway i havent been blogging much because of tweeting. thats the place i can just type quick messages without worrying on how to connect to the next page. its fun, everyone should try even when you own a blog.

nothing much happened over the weeks and months. pretty much the same daily routine just that i think i ought to spend more meaningful time over the weekends, be it with family or friends. ive been sleeping and waking up late almost every single saturday and sunday afternoons. its bad, i should quit that habit because at the end of the day, i will be brushing my teeth and asking myself how much i regret not waking up earlier to have breakfast, go out and explore the world.

okok now i think i should go and get some sleep. got to be at the airport at 0900hrs later and flying off at 11 plus via singapore air, a journey lasting about 7 hours or so excluding some 30 mins or so bus journey to the camp. basically its a chartered flight where no one will be boarding the aircraft except for us so... we'll see if theres any difference in food, entertainment, seats and service.

final touch to my stuffs and off to bed! till then i will be back on 10nov, laters!

Wednesday, September 09, 2009 .::. marley and me
the ache is starting to kill me quite badly. i didnt know the impact of getting thrown to the ground front and back can be such a painful experience! i have been doing my intermediate close combat training and as much as i hate to do it, i have to say its good because that can be one of the excuses that i can be away from the office and smelling all the stinky paper and work.

havent been doing much recently, being an obedient boy i finally flipped open my unfinished and long overdue Marley&Me book. honestly its such a good book that i never want to let it slip off my hands. i dont mind not getting to sleep early just to miss out a few pages of the story. im almost at the end already and it seems that marley is going to leave soon. reading it, every single word carries the emotions of the author. i shall go back and read up a little later before i head to bed. sometimes i do get distracted by the eye-catching 8days la. haha.

going to get busy in the coming weeks because ive recently started training (running) in preparation to clear my second year ippt. then the most hated soc will come very soon. weekends are the only days i look forward to and for this month theres meeting up with my ex-coursemates and birthday chalets. got to get presents and stuff. haha its a happy thing to do but when it comes to thinking of what to buy, it sucks. and the random arrows that fly to your back will be another chore plus, sometimes there will be just shit stuffs to clear. oh man...

for next month, i will be away in the wonderful land of down under for overseas exercise. well some people really love to dedicate their lives wholeheartedly to such things but im seriously not. its not a holiday retreat or something i think id enjoy, its outfield and not getting urself clean and proper food for like 25 days? expecting to drag myself and stuffs to the airport on the 19th next month, i dont hope for anything more but to just return safely.

oh good thing, payday is finally here and it also signifies that the time for bill payments here. i owe the bank some money and have yet to clear! guess half of the months allowance will be gone first for now. then the other bank account which holds my debit card hasnt send me the statement. i really wonder how much i spend in hong kong without thinking of the consequences. it wasnt exactly blind shopping or buying, its the feeling that you will buy without any regrets because its different, comfortable and trendy. homegrown brands are different there unlike singapore where local labels are so expensive!

just added a player to my blog because i feel that its good to share my favourite music. yet to add in more but i will when i manage to find them.

its time to make my leave. i should go pack my stuffs for book in later and watch the show on tv. the weathers getting humid and it hasnt rain for quite sometime, always at the wrong time actually. anyway, tomorrows going to be a tough day again. to get thrown to the floor and getting sore all over. till then, laters!

Monday, August 31, 2009 .::. Shoot me. Be my paparazzi.
i wont be continuing with the previous entry on my hong kong trip. have been down with a terrible major big business - very very sick. i guess this is by far the worst illness i get in my army history. prior to all that, the worst was chicken pox when i was in secondary two and i remember i missed so many lessons and it was a disgusting few weeks. anyways, i was sick.

it all started well that week until i ate the cookhouse food, i believe. i vomitted when i returned to camp that very night despite the fact that i called in to say i will get an mc the next morning. i didnt wanna go through all the hassle of getting to tan tock seng just to see the doctor and getting an mc. little did i know that i would end up in sick bay that very night! ahhaha was admitted to the little sickbay which looked pretty haunted and infested with lizards from the wild. haha i could hear the sounds lor, kns! the drip they gave me was terrible, i got poked twice and i seriously DO NOT trust the skills of the medics in the army man. ive lost faith in them! haha the little two recovering scars on the arms are the proof to it.

then on thursday while i was performing my duty, i fell sick and this time with a fever. nothing good returns for all the late nights ive been through and "route marches" ive done in hong kong. blame myself for not taking care la i can say. okay got five days mc which was something i think is a joyous occasion but it didnt feel good la. the thought of swallowing the medicine is horrible and every thing you eat is tasteless.

sort of recovered now just left with flu and cough. i hope once this is over, it will be over for a long long time before i get the next wave of sickness. its good to fall sick once in awhile cos its really time you tell yourself to rest and just rest, do nothing and wait for things to happen and to come to you. haha not really that la.

met up with pat for singing yesterday. i thought it was already very loud but pat told me i was very soft. its okay man! really thank her for sacrificing herself by exposing herself to someone whos sick and i hope she doesnt get any germs from me. i gave her all the lychees, pineapples and almost all the chips. despite that i still went to buy the fried chives and wanted to eat the goreng pisang!

my whole family is down with either fever, cough or flu or everything. sigh, but all on the way to recovery.

i didnt want to waste my time away this couple of days and i quite wanted to go down town. then i thought to myself how much money do i have left in my "indulging pocket" for this month? haha nothing lor, i spent every single cent on it in hong kong buying so many clothes. then i thought i could visit my friends at mandarin but it might be new faces everywhere and even so, they may not have much time to entertain me. so leave it for next time.

its quite a random entry. oh yes... i watched the music video of lady gaga's paparazzi, i really love it though her attires werent that so nice and the starting gets abit too draggy but its good and creative! btw hong kong seems to be in love with lady gaga, its her song everywhere you go!

mid autumn is not here yet but i have already eaten mooncake. pat your snowskin mooncakes, get your friends to finish up for you! hahaha, i shall finish up my own mini egg custard mooncake i bought from hong kong at the peninsula hotel...

got to go read my 8days. quite a few issues to finish up! hahaha... laters

Sunday, August 23, 2009 .::. live it. definitely loving it.
by the time you read this, i should already be in camp weeping my way through the night and recalling the happy times i spent back last week.

well well, just returned from yet another fabulous trip to hong kong. this month can be called the most expensive time i had. a kickstart of the month, i spent a weekend getaway with my family at the ritz-carlton hotel watching the national day preview from the huge window overlooking the marina bay floating platform. it was a good deal i should say, the team at the hotel was wonderful too! then the short little enjoyment ended and back to the horrendous place for two weeks of which i spent the lovely national day doing duty, guarding the camp. then later that week more came because i just wanted to pull through the month with all the duties and finish it up so that i can set my mind at ease before i go for yet another wonderful place. this time i really mean it and here i jet set to HONG KONG!

the most frequented place in my life and having said that, i guess its over ten times now since my maiden trip to this place in primary one. all i could remember was the place being very dirty and very poor service. people were rude and they walk as if they have wheels on their heels. like everyone else, we've grown up and the country has changed and seeing it change from a british colony to a china special administrative region, you see lesser angmohs and more mainlanders. easily you'll be able to recognise them: cutting queues, speaking very loudly, shouting across the crowds, special dress sense and/or carrying bags of luxury labels (amongst them LV, Prada with LV being the hottest label). cant believe right? its as though they strike lottery every single weekend man! would love to have that kind of life! hahaha... lucky young chinese kids will be showered with branded everyday lor. oh yes i just read on 8-days about the worst asian travelers and the result? CHINESE from china and indians from india! damn funny la...

it was alot of walking and traveling on the mtr. we visited the usual places for shopping like central, causeway bay, tst, jordan, mongkok, tung chung etc. we covered as much as we could on the shopping list and tasted as much food as we can everyday. it was a feast almost every meal, excluding tea breaks so sometimes we just got to forgo the chance of having good desserts at hui lau shan. many funny things happened during the trip.

i visited my friend who is working at W hotel. damn impressive and i really love that wonderland, if you have a chance to stay there please do as i strongly recommend! it was very nice of him to bring me for a little tour despite his work and i sort of had to rush for a dinner with my moms friend. photos will be up soon, in my facebook too.

this time we had some extra time and went ahead with our pre-planned macau trip. okay it was a fruitful one cos we visited the other side of this former portugese-colony. the previous time, we merely made a visit to the famous venetian resort and was stucked there the whole day, partly because it was too big to explore and cotai strip itself is still in development, even till today. so this time we went to tour around the shops and attraction such as the ruins of st. paul's cathedral. its like a sauna there, the air was very stale and the sun was burning hot. we bought the local products and portugese eggtarts. photos will be up soon! we made a visit to another casino resort - wynn macau which is damn chi-chi. you could only imagine atas people will ever make a visit there. my god! hahaha...
